Hydrogen Sulfide Stability

At Ideal, we recently patented the use of deuterium sulfide as a substitute for a hydrogen sulfide because, although concentrations of deuterium sulfide react exactly the same as equal concentrations in electrochemical gas detectors, deuterium sulfide is in fact a more stable constituent component in air balance mixture due in part to its higher threshold of reactivity.  Our tests were so successful that we subsequently licensed this technology to Integrity Cylinder Sales of East Hampton, Connecticut.

We call this new approach H2SMAXX, because it is now part of our CalgasMAXX line of more stable calibration gases.
